Welburn Hall is a North Yorkshire County Council maintained special school with a strong reputation for excellence in working with children and young people who have a wide range of special educational needs.
We offer a dynamic, innovative and highly individualised learning journey for pupils aged 8 to 19 years, with a wide range of physical disabilities or learning difficulties.
Our aim is to ensure all pupils and students have the opportunities they need to reach their full potential for academic achievement, independence and personal development.

- Democracy in Action at Welburn Hall
May 7 was polling day at Welburn Hall School too. We elected our first Head Boy and a Head Girl. This is part of a piece of work around democracy as part of our commitment to promoting British Values.

We were approached earlier this year by NYMAZ - a North Yorkshire musical organisation to make this video (play above) of the musical activities at Welburn Hall to use as an advocacy video to encourage other special schools in their music making.

- Garden Party approaching - 4 July ...
It's a sure sign of summer when we put out this annual plea for help and support with our much anticipated garden party. So if you can help with an hour or two of your time, bake a few cakes, donate gifts and prizes, then please get in touch.
- Exciting Drama Developments
We are just in the process of organising a very exciting partnership with the Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough which will involve actors coming into school to deliver workshops and activities with our pupils over the next school year.
