Welburn Hall is a North Yorkshire County Council maintained special school with a strong reputation for excellence in working with children and young people who have a wide range of special educational needs.
We offer a dynamic, innovative and highly individualised learning journey for pupils aged 8 to 19 years, with a wide range of physical disabilities or learning difficulties.
Our aim is to ensure all pupils and students have the opportunities they need to reach their full potential for academic achievement, independence and personal development.

- Sensory Garden
Staff are working together to replant and refresh the sensory garden for the enjoyment of all.
- Animal Antics for KS2
We have enjoyed lots of furry visitors this half term, puppies galore! We are also going on a Farm Visit to see the spring new-borns.
- Literacy Development
As part of our commitment to literacy in the curriculum, we are making improvements to the school library. There will be lots of new books and resources.
- Music at Welburn
Lots going on at the moment! Alongside our curriculum music and scheduled music therapy, we also have a musician in residence working with all pupils on Tuesdays this term.
- Ocean Trust Trip
Well done to James and Ruby who have been selected to join the Ocean Trust Sailing Trip.

Welcome to Sarah Owen who joins the Teaching team in the College. And welcome also to Karen Pattison and Karen Hodgson, newly appointed Teaching Assistants.

We intend to make greater use of this fantastic resource by training more of our of staff in pool emergency procedures.
- The Welburn Makeover Continues!
We have plans to refurbish the senior lounge (to include a life skills area), and re-fit and re-decorate more bathrooms and bedrooms over the coming months.
