Welburn Hall is a North Yorkshire County Council maintained special school with a strong reputation for excellence in working with children and young people who have a wide range of special educational needs.

We offer a dynamic, innovative and highly individualised learning journey for pupils aged 8 to 19 years, with a wide range of physical disabilities or learning difficulties.

Our aim is to ensure all pupils and students have the opportunities they need to reach their full potential for academic achievement, independence and personal development.

We have dedicated staff, fantastic facilities and beautiful buildings which create a calm and inspiring place to learn, live and work.

At Welburn Hall, we support and encourage achievement and celebrate success. 

We provide a safe, caring and stimulating enviroment in which pupils and students can prepare for the responsibilities of life.

  • Talent Show Winners
    Welburn Hall certainly has talent, and here are the winners of this summer's big contest.......
  • Equine Assisted Therapy Sessions
    In conjunction with RDA sessions we have been introducing equine assisted therapy sessions on collapsed curriculum days
  • Students Visit to Great Yorkshire Show
    Welburn Hall College students visited The Great Yorkshire Show in Harrogate on 13th July.
  • Appleton Mill Farm
    This term a group of College students have been visiting Appleton Mill Farm. This is part of their Work Experience and Environmental Education curriculum.
  • Project Choice Achievements
    College Two students who took part in work experience through Project Choice were presented with their certificates of achievement at The Street, in Scarborough on Thursday 14th July.
  • Catering Awards
    Students from Welburn Hall shone at the recent Catering Awards in Scarborough.
  • Annual Garden Party
    Our annual Garden Party took place on Saturday 2nd July.
  • New Head Boy and Head Girl
    We are pleased to announce that Andrew Bendelow is to be our new Head Boy and Millie Harrison is to be our new Head Girl.
  • Democracy Day
    On 23rd June the school held a Democracy Day.This included the relaunch of the student council and voting for our new Head Boy and Head Girl.
  • Queen's 90th Birthday Celebrations
    On 9th June we had a collapsed curriculum day for the Queen's 90th birthday.
  • PEEMS Visit
    On 14th June we had our annual visit from PEEMS, Pickering Experimental Engineering and Model Society.
