Admissions
Pupils are admitted to Welburn Hall in consultation with parents and on the recommendation of the Local Authority (North Yorkshire County Council). Parents have a statutory right to have their own preference on school placement fully considered before a school is named on their EHCP. Welburn Hall staff are always available to discuss this with parents as are NYCC SEN Officers and the SEND Information, Advice and Support Service
Pupils would usually start the school at the beginning of a new term. We usually try to offer each new pupil opportunities to spend some time in school prior to their full-time admission.
The school is open during the normal North Yorkshire term time dates for 190 days each year.

About Education, Health and Care Plans
The EHCP compiles reports from all the agencies involved with a young person into one document. The EHCP travels with the young person potentially up to the age of 25 whilst they are still receiving education. The information in the EHCP determines the level of support that the young person will need.
It will be required by further education organisations, and social care will use it to help determine the level of support they can provide.
The EHCP is reviewed and updated each year at the annual review meeting.
